Welcome to Vela Sports Aruba. By booking or purchasing any activity, lesson, rental, or service through our website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Bookings

A booking becomes confirmed once payment has been successfully received.

After payment, a member of our team will contact you to confirm your preferred date, time, availability, and any additional details regarding your activity.

Submitting a booking request does not guarantee a specific time slot until it has been confirmed by Vela Sports Aruba.

2. Weather Conditions

Our activities depend heavily on weather and sea conditions.

For the safety of our guests and instructors, Vela Sports Aruba reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, or cancel any activity due to:

  • Insufficient or excessive wind
  • Lightning or thunderstorms
  • Unsafe sea conditions
  • Heavy rain
  • Equipment safety concerns
  • Any other conditions that may affect the safety of participants

If Vela Sports Aruba cancels an activity due to weather or unsafe conditions, guests may choose one of the following:

  • Reschedule the activity to another available date;
  • Receive a full refund if rescheduling is not possible.

The decision regarding weather suitability is solely made by Vela Sports Aruba.

3. Cancellation Policy

Guest Cancellations

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled activity are eligible for a full refund.
  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled activity are non-refundable.

This policy applies regardless of the reason for cancellation unless otherwise required by law.

4. No Shows

Guests who fail to arrive at the agreed meeting location and time without prior notice will be considered a No Show.

No Shows are not eligible for refunds.

5. Late Arrival

Guests are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting time.

Late arrival may reduce lesson time or result in cancellation without refund if the instructor is unable to continue due to scheduling.

6. Safety

Safety is our highest priority.

Vela Sports Aruba reserves the right to refuse participation or terminate an activity if:

  • A participant appears under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • A participant behaves in an unsafe or irresponsible manner.
  • A participant fails to follow instructor safety instructions.
  • Weather or equipment conditions become unsafe.

No refund will be issued when participation is refused due to these circumstances.

7. Participant Responsibility

Guests are responsible for providing accurate information regarding:

  • Swimming ability
  • Medical conditions
  • Previous injuries
  • Weight (when required for equipment selection)
  • Experience level

Failure to disclose relevant information may result in cancellation of the activity without refund if safety is compromised.

8. Equipment

Guests are responsible for using all equipment responsibly.

Any intentional damage or damage caused through reckless behavior may result in repair or replacement charges.

Normal wear and tear remains the responsibility of Vela Sports Aruba.

9. Liability

Participation in watersports involves inherent risks.

By participating, guests acknowledge these risks and agree to participate voluntarily.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vela Sports Aruba shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in any activity.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

10. Personal Belongings

Guests remain responsible for their personal belongings at all times.

Vela Sports Aruba is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal items.

11. Photographs & Media

During activities, photographs or videos may occasionally be taken for promotional purposes.

If you do not wish to appear in photographs or videos, please inform our staff before your activity begins.

12. Privacy

Personal information collected during booking is used solely for:

  • Processing reservations
  • Contacting guests
  • Customer support
  • Legal and safety requirements

Your information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws applicable in Aruba.
